| Victors father, Shalom Fathi, was born in Baghdad, Iraq and later moved to Basra, Iraq where he married his wife, Simcha, and had Victor. After the establishment of the state of Israel, tensions began to rise for Jewish people in Iraq subjecting him and his family to antisemitism. In 1951, due to the rise in antisemitism, Victor, at six years old, and his family packed up their belongings, and made their way to Iran. They traveled through Turkey and eventually settled in Tehran, the capital of the country. |
